Solving Australia’s Drought Problem
In a land of Drought and Flooding Rains, Drought should and could be taking a back seat. See the solution in this video…
In a land of Drought and Flooding Rains, Drought could be taking a back seat …. Is Canberra finally listening ?, They say they are, but how many years has it taken, how many ABC Stories, how many times have Peter Andrews and crew promoted the System of Natural Sequence Farming, only to get little to no support.
This is a story of a system of ecologically sound farming practices called Natural Sequence Farming, designed to restore water to dry parched farming land.
Natural Sequence farming has been developed over 2 decades by Peter Andrews and championed by Tony Coote of Mulloon Creek Natural Farms, together Peter and Tony have worked over the last decade to develop the Natural Sequence Farming Practices at Tony’s Property Mulloon Creek and the results speak for themselves.
The basic premise of Natural Sequence Farming involves building “Leaky Dams”, which are used as a means of retaining water on your land and allowing this water to seep into the surrounding landscape, thus hydrating the soil surrounding your creeks and gullies. This water has the ability to spread far and wide away from your gullies and thus the hydration has a major effect on the surrounding vegetation growth, even in drier / drought times.
After spending much of my previous life on the land and working in and around agriculture, I have found this system, Natural Sequence farming incredible, and I highly recommend checking out the video for more information, especially if you are a land owner. In my opinion Peter Andrews, Tony Coote and all those involved in getting the message out of natural Sequence Farming are absolute Heroes.
We Are Here: The Pale Blue Dot
This Video is by palebluefilms at youtube, it is a great film and really captures the essence of what Carl Sagan was trying to say. Thanks paleblue films.
As Carl Sagan said “preserve and cherish this pale blue dot, the only home we’ve ever known”.
Planet Earth as a balloon, the photos say it all.
Some might choose to ignore what is going on, Some might say that this is inevitable and there is nothing we can do, and some might choose to do something, getting up each day and choosing to be actively involved in being part of the solution.
