Robin Chase Getting cars off the road and data into the skies

A great presentation of a brilliant and logical solution to our most pressing problems. Wireless mesh-networking technology and a sort of carpooling system, will reduce many of our problems dramatically and quickly… this idea is more likely to improve the standards of living, social integration, reduce pollution hence global warming and perhaps save the planet, than any other thing I’ve seen so far.
There are sooo many opportunities to this method of transportation, and probably far more unseen benefits. The down side, companies wont make as much profit… and therefore governments probably wont react, that’s the worry, the fact that more people will benefit but less companies will. So it’s up to the people, and the price of petrol will help people make the decision that will benefit them.
Our current Australian Labor government, who undoubtedly receives political donations from the coal companies, would sooner give $500,000,000 to coal companies to develop the laughable ‘clean coal’ technology, than to encourage this type of wireless mesh-networking carpooling system… the ‘clean coal’ option they are talking about will take years and years… and still may not work, I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Paul Stamets 6 ways mushrooms can save the world
May 13, 2008
Video: Ted Talks
I remember reading something from the late Terrence McKenna, suggesting, from memory, that Mycelia may have played a part in the creation of mammals, perhaps in order to help provide feed for fungi, in order to produce spores and then to help move its spores around, and ultimately, they may have also played a part in the sudden and dramatic increase in the size of the human brain, some 2 or 3 million years ago.
Paul Stamets expands on the importance of Mycelia, saying that they are sentient and that they have a range of applications which might help save the Planet. Fungi is the grand molecular disassembler, it was the first organism to migrate on to land, and it’s there that fungi helped produced the first soils and it in fact may help to fight soil erosion now. Fungi is capable of converting pollution to food, it fixes soils and will result in mixed communities of life, in short, it can be responsible for habitat restoration.
Fungi has also been proven to be highly effective against viruses, in fact Paul suggests that saving Old Growth forests, which is critical for these Fungi, should be a matter of National Defence. There is fungi that kills or repels termites from eating houses, and they, on the other hand can be used to attract insects to certain other areas. There is also fungi that can produces econol (ethanol) by breaking down cellulose and it might well be a better way of producing an alternative fuel, rather than using scarce food.
All these possibilities for fungi, yet most of us have never heard of their amazing abilities, one would have to say why, why could such a relatively simple, yet inexpensive solution be over looked, in asking the question you realize you’ve just answered the question… because big business ain’t going to make big bucks from it.
Car Runs On Air

This little Air car reminds me a bit of the Citroën 2CV, which was and possibly still is, that ugly little underpowered French car, which strangely enough was quite popular. In defense of the French, the Citroëns as a rule have always been very innovative, but as with most rules, the 2CV I still think was the exception that makes the rule.
I believe that this Air car could well be an answer to pollution, global warming and commuting, it’s specs are pretty good, and to be honest I can’t see why it would not be so. Their claims are that it will do up to 200 miles, 60 mph and it can apparently be charged in something like 3 minutes… these are all very good and believable numbers, and it could do this with virtually zero emissions, especially if it’s compressed gas comes from using photovoltaic solar cells to power the air compressors.
However, the ‘perpetual motion’ thing is marketing doing what marketing does, make glib, uninformed statements which are ignorant of the laws of physics.
4. Secret Rulers of the World - Hidden Empire (4 of 29)

Well I’ve said it before, if there is a god that created the whole universe/s, I some how doubt that they would be so insecure that they’d want us to worship them.
For me religion’s just another business, run by a bunch of self interested control freaks, and now we’re told that it is in fact The Catholic church is the wealthiest organization on the planet… a curious condition for an organization that damed the worshiping of idols and who’s main spokesperson (Jesus) knocked over the money tables in the temple and is said to have said “It is harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of heaven, than for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle”.
3.Secret Rulers of the World - Profiting from 9/11 (3/29)

This series is not just about 911, it’s not just another 911 ‘conspiracy’ video, though it does start out talking about it because though only a part of the overall scheme, it is an important part and with most crimes, there are almost always motives, multiple suspicious coincidences and opportunities galore.
If it’s not true what they propose in this series of videos, then there are a staggering number of inert connecting coincidences, including an Australian connection (Frank Lowe), which I doubt most people have heard of before.
Meet Trev

Staff and students at the South Australia University have designed and built an amazing vehicle called the TREV (Two-seat Renewable Energy Vehicle). The Trev is a tandem two seater, with enough luggage space for at least two overnight bags and it weighs only 300 kgs; obviously using a 2+ tonne vehicle for 2 commuting people or less is totally ridiculous.
This energy-efficient car is clean and quiet. It complies with road safety and worthiness regulations, has a top speed of 120 km/h and gives something like 150 km of city driving before it has to be recharged! The electricity costs about $0.18 per kWh and the cost of recharging Trev is only about 2 cents per 2 km (mile)!
The South Australia Labor government has long been a leader in the promotion of alternative energy. Recently the SA government passed legislation, that allows anybody or even small businesses, who produce more power than they need from renewable sources, to sell back their excess power for twice the going rate… how totally excellent is that, and tomorrow we shall have a closer look at that.

Nuclear Energy is safe… trust us
April 23, 2008

Photo: inmotion.magnumphotos
Yeah right… define ’safe’ please. Take a good look at this poor kid folks, think about his ‘life’ and then do a little risk management assessment, ask yourself, will solar, wind, geothermal or tidal power ever do anything like this, could they in anyway lead to Extinction?
They are a bunch of barefaced liars. They tell us they have solved the Nuclear waste problems… that’s total bullshit! Ask them how much, what type of waste and where they have buried this vitrified waste, and then ask them how much of their 2,000 tons of Plutonium they have buried. Ask them how much more waste they are going to have to secure over the next few million years, ask them how much it cost to build these Nuclear power stations, how many it will take to reduce the carbon emissions by half, how long will it take to do that and build the plants necessary, then ask them how much it costs to decommission these ’safe’ Nuclear power plants.
They say it will help with global warming… hellooo! The same sorts of people who initially denied that Climate Change and Global Warming was real, then denied it was largely as a result of human activity; in fact they still are denying that. Now they want you to trust them on Nuclear Energy, and they are spending millions on this campaign of bullshit… don’t buy it folks.
Think back folks. Think about how often they have told you that there are WMDs or that something is safe, then later we have found out that not only were they wrong… but they’d deliberately and calculatingly lied to us.
If they hadn’t wasted a Trillion dollars on Iraq they could have probably put solar cells on all domestic buildings in the US, nobody would have had to die, not Americans and especially not Iraqis… they’ve killed ten times more Iraqis than Saddam did! Do you really think that this time they are telling the truth about Nuclear Energy being safe and clean? Hey if you do, I’ve got a bridge and an Opera house going cheap.
To show you how totally stupid and blinded by greed these proponents of Nuclear Power are, look where they want to build one of their ‘new’ power plants… that’s an ‘extinct’ volcano (like St Helens) right next to the proposed site, and it’s not like they haven’t put Nuclear Power stations on other stupid sites, like 3 Mile Island.
But wait there’s more, check this out and remember St Helens when you read “The utility’s engineers had assured the commission that no likely earthquake could break the nuclear reactor’s concrete-and-steel containment structure.” Notice later that they were more than a little lose with the truth…. ‘Trust me it’s safe’?
There are dozens of reasons why it’s a stupid idea and there are dozens of other solutions. The Nuclear Power is nothing more than an attempt to maintain control over the worlds energy… the last thing they want are solutions they can’t cash in on, the fact that you can provide most of your needs with local non mega corporate solutions just fills them with dread.

Green Gasoline: Fuel made from cellulose
April 16, 2008

Photo: University of Wisconsin-Madison
Researchers from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst (UMass) have made an exciting breakthrough in developing “Green Gasoline”, a substance with very similar properties to ordinary Gasoline, except it is derived from plant cellulose.
The steps involved to produce the Green Gasoline involve rapidly heating the cellulose in the presence of solid catalysts and then quickly cooling the products to obtain a liquid that has many of the compounds found in ordinary gasoline. The entire process takes less than 2 minutes and uses only a small amount of heat. This liquid can be treated further or used as is for a high octane blend.
This Green Gasoline could be obtained from crops such as Poplar trees and Switchgrass, both of which could be grown on marginal land, thereby saving the better soils for food crops.
Other advantages with the Green Gasoline is that it can be used in existing engines, requires much less energy to make than ethanol and the excess heat can be used to produce electricity. The carbon footprint for producing this fuel could well be zero if the excess heat is used to produce power.
So when will we see Green Gasoline in our service stations and fuel tanks, maybe not for 5 - 10 years

Despite the poor quality footage I thought this was quite interesting and should be aired.
So many potential ideas are overlooked or brushed asides either because the pose a threat to the established energy producers, or in the case of motors, the established oil companies.
The thing is, it may re spark renewed interest or conversely it could generate an altogether different approach.

Well what can I say… other than if they jail or fine Rick Simpson it looks like Canada is no longer the exception, no longer enlightened nor humane, and that’s really very sad. Shame on you Stephen Harper, and Shame on your government.
The Rick Simpson Story (Part 5 of 7)

Well it seems to me, to be much the same bunch of bastards who started the Vietnam war. It wasn’t the North Vietnamese who started it… we now know that the Tonkin Bay ‘incident’ was up there with the Kennedy ‘Magic bullet’ and our more contemporary Iraqi WOMDs.
You don’t hear much of WOMDs now days do you, strange when you think about it. I mean looks like it’s going to cost the US three trillion dollars, according to Joseph Stiglitz who was the winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economics, a former Senior Vice President and Chief Economist of the World Bank who served in the Clinton Administration as the chair of the President’s Council of Economic advisers (1995–1997).
Yet Rumsfeld scoffed at the prospect that the Iraq war was going to cost several hundred billion. “Baloney” he said, “The Office of Management and Budget estimated it would be something under $50 billion”. - Online NewsHour.
It’s kind of strange isn’t it… governments are actually stopping people from using a natural plant with natural healing properties, that apparently has cured Cancer, helped with MS and Glaucoma. It helps with chronic pain or loss of appetite from Chemotherapy or AIDs, and has at it’s worst, a side effect that makes people laugh, get the munchies and generally get on with each other better… hey, not only do they stop people from using it, they throw them in jail, sometimes it’s for Life!?
These governments pro porting to be God fearing, bastions of the Law, Champions of Democracy and Freedom, continually lie, murder uncounted thousands of innocents, treat their own Veterans; both the injured and the minority who are relatively unscathed, with such unbelievable callous disregard it’s hard to believe.
Yet they give countless billions to the Military Industrialists and the Drug companies, but they can’t give the Veterans proper health care, nor even millions of kids. They will not give Veterans a decent standard of life either, and they pretty much leave the Veteran’s families, or the jails, to pick up the pieces.
Lighten up Beam you’ll bust a vessel! OK then, lets look at the funny side of the equation.

Well I would have expected better from the Canadian authorities… but then, they do now have a Conservative government, so I guess they are mono focused on ‘free enterprise’; that’s where fewer benefit but more are disadvantaged, and lies, bigotry and ignorance reign supreme.
Isn’t it typical, a few rednecks in suits, who probably drink & smoke (tobacco), using outrageous bully boy tactics with little or no regard for what’s moral. Doing the deeds of faceless stupid, ignorant, bigoted and hypocritical suited ‘old boys’, with their secret hand shakes, and oaths taken with trouser legs rolled up, white gloves on, hoods on heads and nooses around their necks… what a pathetic, corrupt, power mad, chauvinistic bunch of pedophile protecting parasites they are.
The point was made in this video clip about what happened to innocent until proven guilty? However, the problem is, Pot, Hemp, Marijuana or whatever you care to call it, is never judged on a level playing field. If it were it’d be tobacco and alcohol that would be illegal.
